The Post-Graduate Diploma in Wireless and Mobile Computing (WiMC) is one of the pioneering programme of ACTS. The Course is targetted towards the engineers who wish to venture into the domain of Mobile Computing. The Course aims to groom the students to enable them to work on current technology scenarios as well as prepare them to pace with the changing face of technology and reqirements of an exponentially growing Mobile and Wirelss industry. The Course curriculum has been designed keeping in view the emerging trends in mobile technologies as well as contemporary and futuristic human resource requirements of the Wireless and Mobile Industry. The entire course syallbus, courseware, teaching methodology have been derived form the rich research and development background of C-DAC. The depth and width of the course is unique in the industry covering a wide spectrum of the ICT industry.

Qualification 

1. Graduate in Engg or equivalent (eg. BE/B. Tech/4 years B. Sc Engg./ AMIE/ AIETE/ DoEACC B level etc) in Electronics/ Electrical / Computer Science Engineering (CSE) or related areas.
2. PG in Engg. Sciences (eg. MCA/M.Sc. Engg, M.Sc. (
Computer Science, IT, Electrical Electronics, Electronics, Instrumentation etc)
3. Post Graduates in Maths or allied areas (eg. Statistics, Applied Maths)
4. The candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in their qualifying examination.

The total fees for the WiMC course is Rs. 89,000/- (Rupees Eighty Nine Thousand only). The course fees has to be paid as mentioned in the schedule on website.
Scope  

The Mobile and Wireless Technology is one of the fastest growing sector of the Indian economy and the need for trained manpower is growing. The introduction of Android technology and iPhone technology has increased the requirements of industry seeking professionals with the knowledge to develop application for this technologies.

The student database along with the Query Engine is also available to the companies on C-DAC’s Website. This will enable companies across the globe to access the database and shortlist suitable candidates for placement in India and abroad.

Placement Cell 

The Placement Cell at the C-DAC, ACTS coordinates the task of organizing the Campus Interviews for all the students of WiMC. The selection is solely governed by the requirements and recruitment policies of the various companies visiting our campus for recruitment. While most of the companies insist on a graduate degree, the recruitment policies of some of the leading companies tend to prefer students from engineering stream with First Class.
