Learn Indian Language
through Artificial Intelligence
LILA
is a milestone in language learning through Artificial
Intelligence Technology. The LILA series, developed
with the support of Department of Official Language
(DOL), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), New Delhi, includes:
These are Intelligent
Self-Tutoring Systems for HINDI, especially designed
for Government departments, Banks, Public Sector Undertakings
and Corporate employees. These packages are also useful
for other non-Hindi speakers who wish to learn Hindi
from the basic to the advanced stage. The courses are
based on the Hindi Prabodh, Praveen and Pragya syllabus,
being conducted through classroom teaching and distant
education by the DOL. The packages aim at imparting
basic functional knowledge of Hindi, required to communicate
in simple day-to-day situations, to achieve a sound
base of Hindi and its core functional grammar. The constant
interactive participation through a computer in the
self-learning process is likely to give the learner
an edge in the skill of reading, writing, speaking and
understanding grammar and its effective usage.
The Department of Official
Language has revised the Prabodh courseware and has
made it available on the Internet on September 14, 2005.
The package includes all the features as mentioned below:
The
Salient features of the LILA packages are:
-
Tracer
Module: Here, all characters are composed of
stroke types. Many strokes make up a character,
but for esthetic and practical reasons, an order
for writing characters is preferred. When writing
characters, they should be contained in an imaginary
box, and in proportion to other characters with
which they appear. Forethought is needed to make
a character look right, beginning with where one
places the character's first pen stroke, and the
proportions of each stroke in relation to the rest
of the character as a whole. When one understands
the principles behind the writing process, one can
count the number of strokes easily. The TRACER module
enables the user to write each Hindi alphabet stroke-by-stroke.
The order of the strokes allows a writer to reproduce
Hindi characters in a uniform manner.
-

to facilitate, learning of the correct pronunciation
and intonation of the words and sentences. Related
