Having our own house magazine is . . .
C-DACians are upbeat about the idea of having a house magazine. Here are a few reactions about it ...

It is a positive step to link the individuals in C-DAC and build inter-group awareness of what is going on. In one word “Appropriate”. It may be a quarterly, circulated among the members, customers and friendly organisations who need to know more about C-DAC, This would give better visibility to C-DAC and also bridge the gap among members. Its contents could include, technical articles from the members, general articles (ranging over story, poems, jokes, to recipes, a guest article from a person who is interested in C-DAC, it should bring out the news within C-DAC. Some of the success stories of the projects implemented etc.

It is an excellent idea. In my last 4 years at C-DAC, I was witness to some initiatives which fizzled out after a couple of issues. I am sure that this will be long lasting since we have a member responsible for Corporate Commu-nications. This will reduce the grapevine and increase the sense of belonging.

In terms of content, the progress of each group activity, important projects completed or bagged, R & D strengths or achievements, important exhibition participation / papers presented or seminars attended should be mentioned, C-DAC’s focus in the next quarter should be put forth and expectations from members, highlighted.

This house magazine should reflect the dynamic pulse of C-DAC. It should also be circulated amongst customers. In order to maintain the momentum, it should preferably be a quarterly. Hard copy circulation within C-DAC should be very restrictive since it is expensive. It can be posted on the Intranet for general reading.

Having a House Journal is a fantastic idea. C-DAC is growing very fast day by day. In Pune itself we are at 4 locations. Almost everyday we have some event like visits, meetings, product launches, seminars and exhibitions. Members of C-DAC may not be aware of events like Elitex in Delhi or the DAC inauguration function in ACTS.

Most times, we come to know about such events from the newspapers. We should have some common platform where all members situated at various locations can share these events, can discuss about it, can see the photographs.

he house magazine should include brief information and pictures of the various events related to products, courses, people, new members, some poems/jokes from members.

“Something we were missing in C-DAC for long. It is a great and welcome idea. We must give special attention to the contents, should be attractive, which will make it popular. It should be more participative, with information and articles about and by the members.”

“C-DAC Connect” should be an endeavor to bring together all members of the organization with respect to all facets of life i.e. not only their professional accomplishments but also personal achievements, in terms of their social, cognitive & spiritual growth. It should also include pieces of common interests which would go a long way in enriching our daily lives.

C-DAC Connect looks forward to receiving articles - technical & general interest - which can be published in the ‘Pen to Paper’ and ‘First Person’ sections. Feedback, comments and letters will be published in ‘Bulletin Board’. Please address all correspondence to the Editor.
