The National Multimedia Resource Centre (NMRC) of C-DAC has been entrusted with the task of propagating multimedia among the masses. With a view to achieving this objective, the Centre is identifying new multimedia applications and solutions suited to the Indian needs. NMRC has successfully created the Shaili CD ROM which is a collection of reusable decorative components. Laun-ched on the 13th Foundation Day of C-DAC, the QuickMM Album Authoring software addresses the multimedia authoring requirement cost effectively. It is primarily a pre-authored template which is designed to suit specific topics and applications presented in Multimedia. The basic authoring template structure is used for integrating the multimedia contents. It has predefined locations and fields for integrating images, text, audio and video clips. NMRC has deliberately adopted this approach to enable semi skilled professionals in delivering multimedia applications. The software will also support the Multimedia requirements of entrepreneurs and create opportunities for offering Multimedia services.
