Building lasting bonds

Arun Taneja’s dynamic leadership has ensured that the Delhi team works in sync for the achievement of the C-DAC objectives. He is the Group Co-ordinator, C-DAC, Delhi

After working for more than a decade in the IT Industry, I joined C-DAC two years ago. The transition from the private sector to a Government organization was smooth as I found the organization functioning with similar enthusiasm, initiative and drive. My earlier experience had been in the areas of customer support, training, direct sales, dealer sales and distribution. In C-DAC, the challenge was enormous in terms of initiating multifarious technologically advanced computing solutions into real-life applications for human advancement.

With this zeal in mind, I initiated the first project of building an Early Warming System for predicting crop yield using techniques of GIS, Remote Sensing, Information Warehouse and high-speed network. The experience of these technologies and their application in real-life situations gave me the drive to extend these technologies to other application areas – Walk through of difficult Defence Terrains, Landslide Prediction, Disaster Management, Master Plan development, Vessel Monitoring, to name a few.

The organization offered complete trust and independence of operations with tremendous freedom of venturing into new frontiers. The orga-nization has a drive to excel and offers a professional work commitment and a balanced personal life.

If I go down memory lane, every morning offered a new challenge and evening a fulfillment towards the larger goal. Yes, These have been my Moments of Truth.
