When
the corporate communications team delivered
the first issue of C-DAC Connect, it was well
received but not without its dose of apprehensions.
Do we have enough matter for several subsequent
issues? Was a house magazine really required?
Why did it have to be printed. Could we not
just host it on the web/intranet?
I guess, the very fact that we have, without
difficulty produced 4 isssues and the present
bumper issue...should lay most doubts to rest.
It was our Executive Director, Shri R K Arora's
idea that we have our very own house magazine.
He has given us a free hand and constantly motivated
and guided us throughout. Most important, he
has trusted us for good quality in terms of
content, design and layout and his confidence
in the team has meant that we lived up to expectations.
It is an elevating and extremly gratifying experience
to see each, well done issue of C-DAC Connect
catch the deadline. My team of Sameer, Kaushik
and Disha have felt the pangs of pain, pleasure,
irritation and whatever else that goes into
co ordinating, designing and producing a house
magazine, together and each time we have come
out of it with a feeling of achievement and
good work done.
It was decided while we were conceiving the
structure of the house magazine that an Editorial
board be constituted and contents of each issue
be discussed before we go ahead with each issue.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Shri
Arora, my team, the editorial board and all
C-DACians for the success of C-DAC Connect.Our
house magazine has arrived...thank you all.
I
have been associated with C-DAC Connect from
it's birth. At the completion of one year I
am happy to be very involved with it. There
are a lot of experiences attached to working
with C-DAC Connect. Not only has it served to
enhance my interaction with the corporate communications
team but also with the coordinators of other
groups and teams. Connect has exposed me to
various ideas and opinions that go into the
making of each issue. However everyone is unanimous
about one thing- that the house magazine serves
as the mirror to C-DAC.
Being
a part of the C-DAC Connect team, under the
gentle but disciplined guidance of Anahita ma'am
is a pleasure and prestigious too for being
involved with the house magazine.
It is a different/uncommon kind of experience.
I have learnt a lot many things. The core team
of C-DAC Connect comprising - Sameer,Kaushik,Ms
Anahita and myself works very well together
. Even though, we work under pressure, we all
enjoy the work - never get bored. My knowledge
about C-DAC and its activities has increased.
I have interacted with many members and build
a good rapport.
For
a place where "architecture" and "design" almost
exclusively refers to software, it's quite a
novelty being an architect doing graphic design.
Having worked for the last two issues of C-DAC
Connect, I feel I was lucky to have the opportunity
to warm up to it's spirit, that portrays not
only technology but the members of C-DAC, well
in time for the annual issue. With so much being
done at C-DAC in diverse fields of technology
or otherwise, the in-house magazine keeps one
connect(ed).
