"Open up the
doors - to as many people who care to gain access
to it, at whatever moments in their lives, however
frequently they choose to knock upon this or that
learning door - e-learning."
Researchers and
institutions with long standing contributions
to distance education have woken up to the untapped
potential of e-learning. To utilize e-learning
to its full potential, it is paramount that the
results garnered by all the players in the field
of e-learning are shared. This will provide a
view from a new dimension covering not only the
achievements but also the gaps prevalent in the
implementation of e-learning concepts. The need
of hour is to craft a platform for interchange
of ideas and experiences so that a new perspective
on e-learning concepts, implementations and technologies
can be gained, leading to full utilization of
e-learning's potentials.
Recognizing this,
C-DAC, a Scientific Society of the Ministry of
Communications and Information Technology (formerly
the Department of Electronics), Government of
India, through its Hyderabad centre has been working
in the e-learning domain with a specific focus
on the development of e-learning tools, content
development and implementation.
Objectives
ELELTECH
INDIA 2005 has been conceptualized by C-DAC
and the Department of Information Technology (DIT),
Government of India to provide a common platform
to experts working in the e-learning area to share
their experiences and also to evolve future strategies.
C-DAC proposes to conduct the seminar for various
stakeholders of e-learning to provide a forum
for sharing experiences, exchanging examples of
good practice and taking stock of the added value
of using ICT in education and training. ELECTECH
INDIA 2005 would interest the academic and R&D
community, industry and policy makers from the
State and Central Government agencies. In brief,
this seminar would be beneficial to all those

diversity) in implementing online learning tracks.
It would also suggest the best possible solutions
and the focus areas where we need to concentrate
our energies in developing technologies, mobile
learning, blended learning scenario and aim to
bring the benefits of e-learning (in terms of
providing affordable, localized, user friendly,
reachable, secured, just-in-time improved learning)
to every nook and corner - heading towards "e-learning
for all". ELELTECH INDIA 2005 is designed so that
one can identify the tools, technologies and implementation
