C-DAC, Hyderabad is engaged in extensive R&D in the areas of e-Security, eLearning, Supply Chain Management, VLSI and Embedded Systems Design. Recently at the R&D Agenda meeting of all the C-DAC Centres, C-DAC, Hyderabad has been identified as the joint resource centre for the development of Open Source Software and solutions.

In the area of eLearning, the ELELTECH team of the C-DAC, Hyderabad is presently working on the development of "Component based Functionality to eLearning Tools". This is a Grant in aid project from the Department of IT, Government of India. C-DAC, Hyderabad has also launched an eLearning course on "Core Competency in Software Process Management" (CCSPM) using its own eLearning Framework. The centre has conducted a National Seminar on "eLearning and eLearning Technologies (ELELTECH-INDIA 2001)" along with a number of short-term courses in the area of eLearning for the benefit of the academia and industry.
