eLearning is an innovative approach to distance learning. An eLearning and eLearning Technologies Group (ELELTECH) has been established at C-DAC Hyderabad for developing technologies related to eLearning, supported by Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

The five-day workshop on eLearning through Web technologies aimed at providing awareness and insights into the web technologies and eLearning in the context of trainers, instructors, administrators and courseware designers who are desirous to use web as a medium for learning. The course was targeted at the experienced trainers who are keen to get exposed to eLearning, industry and R & D who would like to enter this promising area of learning.

The course contents covered: Overview of Internet/ Intranet, WWW, HTTP, Client-Server Paradigm, browsers & web servers, HTML and HTML editors, Introduction to Server side Technologies, Client side validations using JavaScript, eXtensible Markup Language, Need of eLearning in Indian perspective, its Pedagogical aspects and Global scenario, eLearning Technologies, Interoperability and standards, Collaborative Learning and Case Study on WebCT.
