XML is fast emerging as
the standard data format for Internet Technology. It provides
a standard way to tag or mark up information, thereby making
it easy to read and exchange content hosted on the Internet.
XML also gives the flexibility to create customizable user
interface architecture. It helps organization as an open
data descriptor that can be processed on any software system.
C-DAC's 'XML in eLearning'
workshop was targeted at software developers interested
in enhancing their understanding of the powerful XML programming
concepts found in XSL-Transformations, Xpath expressions,
XML Document Object Model (DOM), Simple API for XML (SAX),
XML validation using DTDs, XML Editors and use of XML in
eLearning.
Aimed at content creators
wishing to develop Internet content using XML, the workshop
provided a hands-on exposure on XML, eLearning standards,
XML and its application; Case Studies in XML were also presented
