Bond is an instrument of corporate finance, project financing and economic development as well as a means for individuals and corporations to put money away for the future. Without a strong bond market, corporate finance and economic development will have to rely too much on the banking system, as well as on equity financing.

To help market participants perform well in the dynamically changing financial market, C-DAC along with Advit labs (Singapore) have developed a financial trading simulator "cyberPROFIT" ver. 1.08.

"cyberPROFIT" is designed for group simulations consisting of traders trading the market, issuers coming to the market with new bonds, a Central Bank and investment managers buying and selling Bonds. Market players are organized as teams to pit against each other.

There will be two types of players in this system -

• Game controller as 'The Central Bank' sets up parameters of the game, performs the functions of market intervention and treasury bond issuer, monitors and sets the pace and direction of the market. At the end of the game the controller assesses the trading performance of the game players. The controller can also act as a game player.
• Game Players as 'Market Participants' participate in trading.
