The challenges of the IT industry and the accelerating pace of developments have spurred C-DAC to further enhance its performance on all fronts. Despite the fast technological obsolescence, high attrition rates and the critical phase the IT industry finds itself in, C-DAC has increased its R&D inputs from Rs. 13.5 crores in 1998-99 to Rs. 23 crores in 2001-02 on its development and commercialization of its technologies. Likewise, C-DAC has managed to grow at a steady pace, doubling its turnover from Rs. 16 crores in 1997-98 to Rs. 38.24 crores in 1998-99 and further doubling to Rs. 74 crores in 2000-01 and has carved a niche for itself in several high technology areas. Our attrition rate remains at around 14% p.a., which is quite in line with the industry trends.
