  • Panini is the earliest extant descriptive grammar. Panini is the earliest extant descriptive grammar of Sanskrit as currently spoken during his time. His extra ordinary perception of linguistic facts covered, however, a wider region, since he only not refers to the earliest stage of the language as occurring in the Vedic literature, but also spread over the northern and eastern part of India whose regional variant he also noticed in his majestic sweep.

    Nirukta (etymological explanation) A list of Vedic word is called as Nighantus. The Nirukti is directly concerned with the sense-aspect and hold a central position in vedic interpretation. It is the complement of grammar as well as an independent science.
  • Mimamsa
    The word Mimamsa is derived from ‘mama’ meaning ‘determination, measure’. It is one of the six systems of Hindu philosophy. The first and oldest is the ‘Vaiseshika’ Of Kanada who is the first to start the atomic theory of criterion. His system contains both the mental and natural philosophies. Mimamsa is a science of judicial interpretation of the sacrificial portion (Karma Kanda) of the Veda just as Vedangas is that of JnanaKanda. It is exegesis or science of interpretation. It is distinguishable on hand from the’ Kalpa Sutra’ which is purely deals with complicated procedure of sacrificial rites and ceremonies and on the other from Nirukta which explains the vedic word and their bearing on the vedic text. The Mimamsa thus partakes of the nature of both of them as it undertakes to the interpret the Vedic words and describe the ceremonies in connection with them. It is both philosophy and logic and sina-qua-non for the study of the sacrificial portion of the Veda.

    Sankhya tents are contained in the sutra-s of stage Kapila, who is regarded as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The system deals with nature, it Evaluates and Evolution itself, besides deal with souls (through they are passive in this system). Creation is propounded to be by the agency of nature, while purusha helps merely by his presence. The twenty-four evolution of primordial matter, theory of Sankhyadi-vada. (Existent cognition) are some of the salient features. This is an Asthika-Darshana, and hold Vedas as Swatha Pramana(self-authentic). This is referred to in Bhagavad Gita.
