   Science Day Celebrations at C-DAC  
 

Pune, February 24, 2005

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) will celebrate National Science Day on February 28, 2005 by displaying its diverse technologies, particularly in Physics.

C-DAC's PARAM 10000 housed at the National PARAM Supercomputing Facility (NPSF) situated close to the main building of the Pune University, will be open to visitors from 9.30 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. on February 28, 2005. C-DAC will also showcase its applications on PARAM through audiovisual demos on a kiosk.

Shri. S. Ramakrishnan, Director General, C-DAC said, "C-DAC identifies with and supports the Science Day initiative. The theme for the National Science day this year is ' Celebration of Physics' and C-DAC would like to take this opportunity to create awareness and encourage an interest in society towards the developments in computing technology and its applications in Physics'. 'C-DAC has been at the forefront in propagating the use and importance of technology amongst the public and has taken the lead in organizing programs on a number of occasions' he added.

The year 2005 is being observed as 'World Year of Physics'.
