Centre
for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC)
participated in INDIASOFT 2005, organized by the Electronics
and Computer Software Export Promotion Council at the
Chennai Trade Center Complex, Chennai during March 21-22,
2005. Thiru Dayanidhi Maran, Honble Union Minister
for Communications and IT, Government of India was the
Chief Guest at the exhibition and delivered the inaugural
address.
Mr.
S. Ramakrishnan, Director General, C-DAC
delivered a presentation on Doing Business in
India-Technology Initiatives at the event on March
22, 2005. C-DAC also showcased its range of products
covering six broad technology themes, namely High
Performance Computing and Communications, Application
Oriented Software and Solution (egovernance), Embedded
Computer Technologies, Security and Network Infrastructure,
IT Training Activities & e-Learning, and Language.
These include Garuda-C-DACs Grid Computing initiative,
PARAM Padma, Smart Palika, Simputer, Black Box, TETRA,
Gyanidhi, Smart Card Reader and so on. C-DACs
Shruti Drishti, a Text to Speech and Text to Braille
Application for the visually impaired, which received
the Golden Icon Award in the Trail Blazing application
of the year New Entrant Category at the 8th National
Conference on e-Governance recently, was also on display
at the exhibition.
Mr Maran along with
Mr Brijesh Kumar, Secretary, DIT, MC&IT visited
the C-DAC stall and evinced keen interest in the products
and technologies that were being exhibited during the
event.
INDIASOFT is a unique
