Pune, March 28, 2006
Shri
S. Ramakrishnan, Former Director General, C-DAC announced three new products- Mercury
Web Interface, an 'add on' web based access system
for C-DAC's Integrated
Telemedicine Solution Mercury, Prakriti Vichaya,
a first-of-its-kind Ayurveda based software solution for evaluating the unique prakriti
of an individual, and Real Time Technology for Atmospheric
Research, a portable and web based software for
regional simulations of the atmosphere on the eve of
the 19th Foundation Day celebration of C-DAC, Pune on
March 28, 2006.
Mercury Web Interface is an 'add
on' web based access system for Mercury, C-DAC's
Integrated Telemedicine Solution, which is a hybrid,
Telemedicine System offering a suite of tools for enabling
sustainable Telemedicine programs across geographies.
This system has been developed to be web-based access
interface for Mercury InterSite Server and designed
to provide Web based Tele-Consultation Models that can
function over the Internet. The versatility of this
interface lies in its ability to provide most of the
features of Mercury through Web / Internet / Intranet
or even wirelessly.
The Real Time Technology for Atmospheric
Research of C-DAC is a fully automated, flexible, portable,
web based software developed for regional simulations
of the atmosphere. The automated workflow is designed
with the objective of providing the user a real time
simulation technology for atmospheric research over
local scale (sub urban region). The output obtained
from this technology can be used for understanding the
condition of the atmosphere over the region as small
as 1 Km X 1 Km. The numerical data is further processed
to obtain various information of atmospheric states
and parameters in graphical as well as in animated format.
This information can be disseminated through the Internet
in real time.
Prakriti plays an important role in
the prevention, diagnostics and treatment of diseases.
Prakriti assessment is part of a ten-point evaluation
system of an individual and it helps the physician in
advising him proper diet and lifestyle to maintain the
optimum state of health. It is also important for diagnosis
and selection of drugs for specific treatment. The Prakriti
Vichaya software system is the first software solution
for Psychological Constitution Assessment and Tissue
Quality Assessment in Ayurveda. The application offers
extensive questionnaire specific to age groups and genders.
It covers historical, anatomical, physiological, psychological
assessment with practical options for each question.
The software system has been validated through multi-centric
national level field trials.
