Visitors throng C-DAC's supercomputing facility |

Around 700 visitors
grabbed the opportunity to see the National PARAM Supercomputing
Facility (NPSF)
of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing
(C-DAC)
on the occasion of the National Technology Day on Saturday.
The visitors got an
insight into C-DAC's PARAM facility and other latest
technological developments undertaken by C-DAC. These
included the Natural
Language Processing, Bioinformatics, Decision
Support System and Network
Security technologies initiated by C-DAC.
People also got an
opportunity to relive the evolution saga of C-DAC's
PARAM supercomputer series and the GIST Technology, through an audiovisual feature presented
by C-DAC. The visitors even had a glimpse of the latest
computing technologies. One of the visiting parents
said, "I got my children to see the Supercomputer
PARAM. Our children were happy to see this famed computer
and other technological breakthroughs achieved by C-DAC.
It was a great experience coming here." C-DAC undertook
the exercise of displaying its technological developments
to the general public, with the objective of bridging
the gap between the common man's know-how and technological
advances.
