The Centre for Development
of Advanced Computing (C-DAC)
local center launched its Diploma in Embedded Systems
Design (DESD)
course here on Monday.
Principle Secretary,
Information Technology, Mr. J. Satyanarayana taking
part in the program said the IT sector was once again
showing signs of recovery. The State Government was
also trying its level best to open new avenues and job
opportunities for the IT students.
He said that Information
technology Sector was a very dynamic one compared to
other sectors with new developments taking place at
a rapid speed. Unless a student updated his knowledge
by incorporating new developments in the course, he
or she would not be useful for the market, he opined.
He said that though
some of the objectives had been achieved, the IT sector
still had a long way to go in fully exploiting the potential
in the country. He said that the IT sector always gave
a chance to come up with something more innovative each
time, and development of newer methods was always possible
here. Explaining about the course, Program Coordinator
and Head of C-DAC, Dr. N. Sarat Chandra Babu said that
it was developed to address the growing need of diverse
and innovative applications in communications, Internet
application, consumer electronic and process control
industry. The course was developed with equal emphasis
on hardware and software, he added.
The DESD was a five-month
course consisting of seven modules and an industry relevant
project. The selection process would have three stages.
The fee for the course is Rs. 40,000 payable in two
installments. The course has been designed and offered
by hardware and system software designers of PARAM Supercomputer.
