   C-DAC participates in HPC ASIA Steering Committee meet  
 

Pune, Feb 27, 2001

C-DAC participated in the HPC Asia (High Performance Computing in Asia-Pacific region) Steering Committee meeting held at Bond University, Australia from Feb 14-16, 2001. C-DAC is an active member of this committee, which meets once in 18 months to discuss various aspects of High Performance Computing in the Asian Region.

Other Asian countries including China, Japan, India, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Phillipines, Hongkong, Malaysia and New Zealand and Australia from the Pacific region also participated. This meeting was organized by Dr. David Kahaner, Director, Asia Technology Information Program, and hosted by Dr. John O'Callaghan, Executive Director, Australia Partnership for Advanced Computing. Dr. S.C. Purohit of C-DAC presented the activities in the Indian region and proposed that India should host the next HPC Asia Conference and Exhibition.
