C-DAC completes System Requirements
Study

Shri. Ramakant
Khalap, Hon'ble Minister of Information Technology,
Government of Goa lauded Centre for Development of Advanced
Computing (C-DAC) for successfully completing a System Requirements Study
in a record time of less than 3 months for as many as
ten departments of the Government of Goa. Shri. Khalap
was on a visit to C-DAC to review the System Requirements
Specifications (SYRS) and discuss further areas of co-operation.
Shri. Khalap was also given a demonstration on SYRS
for five additional departments of the Government of
Goa.
Conforming to
the Memorandum of Understanding, between C-DAC and ITG
(Info Tech Corporation Goa Ltd.) The System Requirements
Study was completed for the departments of Civil Supplies
and Price Control, Fire and Emergency Services, Department
of Tourism, Commissionerate of Labour, Directorate of
Sports, Inspectorate of Legal Metrology, Commissionerate
of Factories and Boilers, Institute of Public Assistance
(Provedoria), Rural Development Agency and SC/OBC Finance
Development Corporation.
C-DAC's team
of thirty dedicated and skilled members comprising requirement
engineers, analysts and project managers were based
in Goa in order to understand and analyze the requirements
of the above-mentioned departments.
C-DAC's role
in promoting eGovernance in Goa is to study and understand the existing level
of computerization, define the framework, technology,
architecture and standards for specific eGovernance
projects, evolve and execute technology solutions and
an information system planning framework for implementing
the eGovernance program.
C-DAC, a name
to reckon with in the field of High Performance Computing
has successfully made a mark in providing eGovernance
solutions to various State Governments of India.
C-DAC has taken major initiatives
in the field of eGovernance and has successfully developed
and implemented solutions for a Decision Support System
based on Data
Warehousing for a multipurpose household data for
Andhra Pradesh, Computerization and Networking of Public
Works Department of Maharashtra, Maharashtra
State Legislative Assembly Council, Maharashtra Industrial
Development Corporation, Octroi,
Department of Registration
and Stamps, Department
of Archives, Election Commission of Maharashtra, Hospital
Information System Computerization of Municipal Corporations
in Karnataka and Laboratory Automation for Central Power
Research Institute and Networking for a number of institutions
to support data transfer.
