   C-DAC launches Diploma In Embedded Systems Design  
 

Hyderabad, March 25, 2002

The Hyderabad Centre of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) announced the launch of its Diploma in Embedded Systems Design (DESD) course in Hyderabad today.

The DESD course, conducted by C-DAC for the first time is a five months fulltime course consisting of seven modules and an industry relevant project. The course structure continuously evaluates the performance of the students' work through assignments and tests. The daily session comprises of 2 hours of classroom lecture followed by 4 hours of lab work. An industry applicable project is assigned to the students during the course.

According to Shri. R.K. Arora, Executive Director, C-DAC "C-DAC's DESD course is designed with equal emphasis on hardware and software to gear up Electronic design engineers to meet the needs of the Telecom, Power, Consumer Durables and other related industries in the design and development of state-of-the-art embedded systems". He further adds, "C-DAC has constantly kept itself abreast of developments and requirements in the IT domain, and the specialized training facilities in Embedded Systems Design conform to its endeavor of imparting quality Advanced Computing Training".

The Chief Guest of the function, Shri. J. Satyanarayana, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government of Andhra Pradesh, Department of IT & Communications spoke of the need for quality advanced computing training courses and commended C-DAC for its timely introduction of the DESD course.

According to NASSCOM, the Mckinsey study reveals that by the year 2008 export of Embedded Software from India is expected to grow to the tune of US $ 10 billion and with an almost equal domestic requirement.

C-DAC's DESD course provides access to state-of-the-art computing facilities and the latest embedded system design tools and kits. The course also offers a unique curriculum, resourceful faculty, extensive hands-on sessions, a well-equipped library and a creative work environment to the students.

C-DAC's Advanced Computing Training School (ACTS) is dedicated to creating premium-trained professionals for the IT industry through the designing and delivering of various courses.
