Centre
for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) has
entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Business
Parks of Mauritius Ltd. (BPML), a State Undertaking
of the Government of Mauritius, set up to spearhead
the development, construction and management of major
Business and IT Parks in Mauritius.
As per the MOU,
C-DAC will extend its expert advisory services, development
assistance in specific areas and the information technology
training expertise. To start with, C-DAC will be offering
its flagship course, Diploma
in Advanced Computing (DAC) to diverse interest
groups in Mauritius, followed by the other training
courses of interest.
The MOU has been
signed with an objective to allow professionals in Mauritius
to access the latest IT developments that will help
in the implementation of various IT development projects
in Mauritius.
During the course
of his visit to Mauritius to sign the MOU, Shri. R.K.
Arora, Executive Director, C-DAC, met several VIP'S
from the Mauritian Government including the Deputy Prime
Minister, Finance Minister, IT Minister and the Education
and Scientific Research Minister to discuss in detail
the IT collaboration between C-DAC and Mauritius. Shri
R.K.Arora in his interviews to leading media publications
in Mauritius also spoke about C-DAC and its activities,
the purpose of his visit and the proposals, which C-DAC
had presented to BPML.
C-DAC gave five
proposals that covered the Development of Language Computing
Solution in Creole and other Oriental Languages spoken
in Mauritius, Training course for civil servants in eGovernance,
C-DAC/ BPML Scholarship (for 20 students for Diploma
in Advanced Computing), IT Literacy for the Masses and
offering ITHR Database services.
According to
Shri. Arora, "The MOU with BPML marks the beginning
of C-DAC's role as a leading advanced computing development
institution offering development and training assistance
to developing countries, which are short on proper IT
training facilities and development expertise. C-DAC's
competence in these areas will help Mauritius attain
its goal of IT proficiency".
C-DAC has, over
its decade of existence established itself as a significant
developer of advanced information technology products
and solutions, and is commercializing them successfully
to address key sector segments.
C-DAC's Advanced
Computing Training School (ACTS) has in less than
a decade established a multi-locational presence in
India with its Authorized Training Centres (ATC). At
present ACTS has a finely tuned network of over 100
ATC's in India, which provide advanced IT training to
over 30,000 students annually in various streams of
information technology. ACTS, Diploma
in Advanced Computing (DAC), Diploma
in VLSI Design (DVLSI), Diploma
in Embedded Systems Design (DESD), Diploma
in Advanced Computer Arts (DACA), Diploma
in Information Technology (DIT), Advanced
Diploma in Information Technology (ADIT) are highly
rated information technology courses in the Indian IT
industry.
