MANTRA - The Machine Assisted Translation Tool, developed by the Applied Artificial Intelligence Group of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, C-DAC, translates core and official language sentences from English to Hindi. A Beta version of MANTRA is ready. It is currently being expanded to the domian of Administrative Correspondence under the project "Computer Assisted Translation System for Administrative Purposes", sponsored by the Department of Official Languages, Ministry of Home Affairs. MANTRA with eMail mesaging will enable the user to input the text in English and transfer the translated Hindi text to the remote users on the Internet.
