C-DAC: Press Kit - Press Releases -C-DAC launches PCI's Geomatica

The Centre For Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) in association with PCI Geomatics, organised a series of seminars to demonstrate GEOMATICA, an integrated solution to meet the growing demands on remote sensing, image processing, GIS, and digital cartography. The seminars were held in Dehradun, Chandigarh and Delhi from July 24-28, 2000.

C-DAC has a strategic tie up with PCI Geomatics, manufacturer of the leading edge in raster and spatial data software, which include remote sensing software and radar image analysis software. The response to the seminars was very encouraging and was attended by more than 250 scientists from over 70 institutes. GEOMATICA blends EASI/PACE remote sensing software, SPANS GIS, ACE cartographic software and OrthoEngine photogrammetry suite into a single modular environment. The package is highly customizable and the user can select from various components that best suit their needs, create precise end-to-end solutions, adjust a variety of work setting preferences and even produce their own specialized software using a wide range of tools. PCI Geomatics has also developed and commercialized products like Agroma for agriculture, GoeAnalyst for Geo-scientists, GeoComp for forestry and agriculture, CZ-IMS for coastal zone monitoring and IMEWS for defence applications.

C-DAC has been engaged in Geomatic activity for over a decade and has developed software and applications in remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
