His Excellency, Dr.
P.C. Alexander, Governor of Maharashtra inaugurated
the computerization project of the Registration Department
at the Sub-Registrar Haveli 1 Office, at Pune with the
implementation of the SARITA software here today.
As a turnkey solution
provider for the State Government of Maharashtra, C-DAC
has been entrusted with the task of developing specific eGovernance solutions for the Public Works Department, Maharashtra
Industrial Development Corporation, Legislative Assembly
and Council and the Department of Archives and Registration.
One of the eGovernance solutions developed by C-DAC
is for stamp registration computerization for the State
and includes a software package called Stamp and Registration
with Information Technology and Administration (SARITA).
The SARITA software
is presently being installed at the different offices
of the Inspector General of Registration in the state.
C-DAC has also offered to computerize registration operations
in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
Dr. P.C. Alexander
congratulated Dr. Nitin Kareer, the Inspector General
of Registration & Controller of Stamps, M.S., on the
implementation of the program and emphasised the need
for archiving old records of the Registration Department
and putting them in the computer media to ensure the
reliability and safety of the data. Hon'ble Minister
for Revenue, Shri. Ashok Chavan, Hon'ble State Minister
for Revenue, Shri. Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar and Inspector
General of Registration, Dr. Kareer, also spoke at the
occasion. Also present were Dr. (Mrs.) Joyce Shankaran,
Principal Secretary, Revenue Department, Maharashtra
State and Shri. R.K. Arora, Executive Director, C-DAC.
