An 8 Node PARAM 10000 has been installed at the Supercomputer Education and Research Centre at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore recently.

Funded by the Department of Information Technology, Government of India, this is the third of the twelve Premier Institute, which is equipped with PARAM 10000 to conduct research in the broad areas of Science and Technology. A Workshop was conducted by C-DAC at the Supercomputer Education Research Centre, IISc, Bangalore recently to initiate close interaction with researchers in the Institute and to familiarize them with the optimal usage of PARAM 10000. The processing nodes of PARAM 10000 are UltraSPARC II and are connected using the PARAMNet. The system will be used by different Applications Departments like Atmospheric Sciences, Mechanical, Structural, Aerospace, Computer Science as well as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
