Centre for Development
of Advanced Computing (C-DAC),
today forged ahead with its new training initiatives,
by launching its unique GraDE IT (Graduate Diploma in
Emerging Information Technology) course, keeping in
view the requirement projections of the information
technology industry for skilled human resource.
A student of GraDE
IT has the option of pursuing one or more of the range
of Diploma or Certificate Courses that make up the GraDE
IT program. The program offers courses suitable for
a range of users from beginners to working professionals
who wish to upgrade and enhance their knowledge. The
flexible structure of the program allows students to
choose and complete the courses of their choice, according
to their convenience.
The highpoint of GraDE
IT is a unique credit system, which allows the students
to leverage their existing computing knowledge and to
continually upgrade their skills. The credits gained
by a student in a previous course can be accumulated
and carried forward while attempting the succeeding
course.
Elaborating on GraDE
IT, Shri
R.K. Arora, Executive Director C-DAC, said, "GraDE
IT offers an opportunity for students and professionals
to build and enhance their knowledge and skills as per
their convenience. Its modular structure and flexible
schedule enables them to pursue the program simultaneously
with their education or professional commitments. The
syllabus is continually updated and the students are
offered an innovative credit system to enhance their
skills."
The choice of courses
offered under the GraDE IT program include Diploma in
System Programming, Diploma in Business Computing, Diploma
in Web Technologies, Diploma in MS.Net, Certificate
course in Object Oriented Programming, Certificate course
in Database Technologies & Visual Basic, Certificate
course in Web Programming and a Certificate course in
Programming using C.
C-DAC also announced
the launch of its Pre-DAC (Preparatory course for Diploma in Advanced Computing)
online course as part of its eLearning initiative. Unique in structure and format, these courses cater
to various categories of aspiring IT professionals,
who seek reliable, contemporary and quality training
in Advanced Computing.
Adapting its Pre-DAC
course to suit the eLearning environment, C-DAC
ACTS has employed various online tools for communication,
collaboration and course delivery. The course will comprise
online sessions with instructors and support staff.
Assignments will be discussed and the student can receive
instructions in an online and in synchronous modes.
According to Shri R.K.
Arora, "In an era, which is fast witnessing eLearning
as an effective alternate educational medium, C-DAC's
timely intervention into this area will cater to a students
need of convenient learning. The teaching methodology
and Internet technologies will equip the students with
relevant knowledge and skills to tackle the Common Entrance
Test for C-DAC's Diploma
in Advanced Computing".
Candidates who have
registered for the DAC (Diploma in Advanced Computing)
Common Entrance Test (CET) to be conducted in December
2, 2002 will be invited to register for the free Pre-DAC
eLearning course.
C-DAC further announced
the launch of the Diploma in Multimedia Creations (DMC).
DMC is offered by C-DAC's National Multimedia Resource
Centre (NMRC)
as a part-time course specially designed to provide
a foundation to candidates aspiring to pursue a career
in the field of Computer Graphics, Publication, Designing
and Multimedia. DMC also serves as a preparatory step
for those hoping to undertake training in advanced computer
arts.
This course will equip
students with the basic knowledge required to generate
multimedia creations and apply them in their profession.
Also the course helps students to access their aptitude
in the field of Multimedia.
C-DAC's Advanced Computing
Training School (ACTS)
spearheads the advanced computing training domain in
India. Courses offered by ACTS have been designed keeping
in view the emerging trends in advanced computing as
well as the contemporary and futuristic human resource
requirements of the IT industry. ACTS offers the Diploma
in Advanced Computing (DAC),
Diploma in Advanced Computer Arts (DACA),
Diploma in VLSI Design (DVLSI),
Diploma in Embedded Systems Design (DESD),
Diploma in Geoinformatics (DGI).
