   C-DAC Commences Development of eGovernance Solution for IGR Karnataka

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) completed the Systems Requirement Study as part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Stamp and Registration (DSR), Government of Karnataka for development of eGovernance solutions for IGR Karnataka.

The Systems Requirement Study was delivered by C-DAC's Executive Director, Shri R.K. Arora to Shri. H.C. Srikantaiah, Hon'ble Minister for Revenue, Government of Karnataka during the latter's visit to C-DAC.

C-DAC has been appointed as the Technical Solution Provider (TSP) for the computerization of the 'Stamps & Registration' operation and the 'Scanning & Archiving of the documents' in all the offices falling under the jurisdiction of the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Government of Karnataka. Code named KAVERI (KArnataka Valuation and E RegistratIon), the project involves the computerization of 220 sub registry offices across Karnataka.

Shri. Srikantaiah's visit also explored opportunities of further alliances with C-DAC in areas of eGovernance for the State of Karnataka. He also visited a Sub-Registrar's office in Pune and studied the computerization of the office of IGR of the Government of Maharashtra earlier undertaken by C-DAC. Dr. Nitin Kareer, IGR Maharashtra, present on the occasion, provided Shri. Srikantaiah with valuable inputs on the utility and effectiveness of the Maharashtra IGR computerization.

Shri R.K. Arora, Executive Director C-DAC, welcomed Shri. Srikantaiah and said "Shri. Srikantaiah's visit will go a long way in C-DAC furthering the eGovernance initiatives of the Karnataka Government. Having completed the System Requirement Study, the Software Development has begun for which the software team is already in place".

Shri. Srikantaiah was also briefed on the diverse activities of C-DAC and given a bird's eye view on the other initiatives undertaken by C-DAC. Shri. Srikantaiah expressed a keen interest in the diverse activities of C-DAC and appreciated the work done by C-DAC in myriad areas of IT.
