The Centre for
Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC)
and Info Tech Corporation of Goa Ltd. (ITG), a Government
of Goa Undertaking, have entered into a Memorandum of
Understanding to implement eGovernance solutions for the State Government.
A plan to set-up
an eGovernance cell in association with ITG will also
be implemented shortly.
According to
Shri. R.K. Arora, Executive Director, C-DAC, the Government
of Goa will also utilize C-DAC's expertise and eGovernance
software to enhance operations and services provided
by its various departments. As per the MoU, C-DAC will
first study and understand the existing level of computerization
in the state departments.
Based on feedback,
it will then proceed to execute technology solutions
for the implementation of the eGovernance programme.
The state government's
initiative is expected to accelerate the growth of Information
Technology (IT) industries.
