India would launch a One Teraflop supercomputer on December 16, a top government official announced today.

"C-DAC is going to launch its first One Teraflop machine and this is going to be on December 16," Secretary to the Government in the Ministry of Communication and Information technology, Shri. Rajeeva Ratna Shah, told reporters here.

The Government would establish an Information-grid (I-grid), under a Rs. 130 crore project, for which it has already given in-principle approval.
