Centre for Development
of Advanced Computing (C-DAC)
plans to integrate the 'KAVERI' (Karnataka Valuation
and E-Registration) eGovernance scheme for digitization of stamps and registration with
the 'Bhoomi' electronic land records program.
C-DAC had completed
the systems requirement study in August this year. It
had been appointed as technical solution provider (TSP)
for this program. KAVERI involves computerization of
220 sub-registrar offices across Karnataka.
The center is also
involved in the computerization of land records in six
cities of Karnataka. The projects at Bangalore and Mysore
would be commissioned at the end of this month, while
others in Mangalore, Hubli, Dharwad and Hubli would
be inaugurated in March 2003.
C-DAC also plans to
increase the head count at its Knowledge Park in Bangalore
from the present strength of 160 engineers.
According to Shri.
R.K. Arora, Executive Director C-DAC, the I-Grid
project, with joint funding of Rs. 146 crore over five
years from C-DAC and the Union Government, would initially
cover cities such as Pune and Bangalore.
