The PARAM 10000 High Performance Computing System with a 6.4 Gflops peak performance power was installed at the Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College (MNREC), Allahabad, recently. A Workshop cum Training was organized by C-DAC during October 12 - 14, 2000. This installation was in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between MNREC and C-DAC, under a project sponsored by the Department of Information Technology and endorsed by the Ministry for Human Resources Development.

MNREC, Allahabad, is the first Regional Engineering College in India to acquire this supercomputing facility for conducting research in the broad areas of Science and Engineering.

Under this joint collaborative program, Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College and C-DAC will work together for utilizing computing power to improve industrial products. This, PARAM 10000 installation is the sixth in the series of the Premier Institutes being identified to carry out research and development using PARAM 10000.
