C-DAC has sponsored
the visit of one of its members-Arun, for the Mansarovar
Yatra, which is annually organised by the Ministry of
External Affairs for an enterprising group. The experience
was exhilarating for Arun who has captured some of the
beauty and serenity of the area around the Kailash-Mansarovar.
Here are some pictures that present nature in its pristine
beauty, almost untouched by man.

This vast expanse
of water-that is the Mansarovar, in the upper Himalayan
region has the light of the setting sun reflecting on
the crystal clear water, almost undisturbed by life
around it.

The snow capped peaks
of Kailash, a mountain peak in the Himalayas, stands
tall in all its glory with the rays of the sun as if,
casting a halo around it.

These pictures allow
a glimpse into the revered Kailash Mansarovar and its
surrounding areas. It is believed in Hindu mythology,
that the waters were visited by the Gods and Goddesses
for a bath. Perhaps the beauty and peace manifest in
the pictures, gives us an opportunity to appreciate
Mother nature in all its splendour.
