C-DAC has advented the OpenFrame
Architecture for scalable & flexible High Performance
Computing. This has been realized in C-DAC's PARAM
10000 which has been installed in our National PARAM
Supercomputing Facility (NPSF).
The PARAM 10000 series
of machines are powered by the state-of-the-art and
emergent SUN's UltrSparc series of Servers/Workstation.
It is Asia's largest supercomputer with 44 nodes of
Sun workstations with 4 processors each. These nodes
are interconnected through PARAMNet's high bandwidth,
low latency network designed in-house. The Open and
flexible software environment is an integral part of
PARAM OpenFrame Architecture. C-DAC HPCC software, which
has been developed by the SSDG is the main component
of the PARAM OpenFrame software, provides a flexible
parallel and distributed software environment.
This group has also
developed PC Cluster based on Solaris X86 and is in
the process of developing LINUX clusters.
