In a significant step towards strengthening technology-enabled healthcare services for ex-servicemen and their dependents, Maj Gen Anil Chandel, SM, VSM, Managing Director, Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), visited C-DAC Mohali on June19th, 2026 to review the progress of the eSeHAT initiative and interact with the project team.
Maj Gen Anil Chandel, SM, VSM, Managing Director, ECHS, was warmly received by Dr. Sanjay P. Sood, Scientist G and Head, Digital Health Innovation Department (DHID), on his visit to C-DAC Mohali. During the programme, Smt. Sonia Dosanjh, Head, Applied Artificial Intelligence & Analytics (AAIA) Division and Head, PS&O, C-DAC Mohali, presented an overview of C-DAC's key technology initiatives and contributions in the areas of advanced computing, digital health, and e-Governance. Dr. Jaspal Singh, Head, Robotics & Smart Systems, gave a presentation on the digital health devices developed by C-DAC Mohali, highlighting their innovative features and potential applications in strengthening technology-enabled healthcare delivery.
A live demonstration of the eSanjeevani National Telemedicine Service platform was conducted, followed by a comparative presentation on eSeHAT and eSanjeevani. The discussion highlighted the enhanced capabilities of the eSanjeevani platform, including its scalability and upcoming features. The ECHS delegation showed keen interest in the Tele-Follow-Up module of eSanjeevani, recognizing its potential to enable follow-up teleconsultations for ECHS beneficiaries after their physical visit to ECHS polyclinics, thereby improving continuity of care and reducing the need for repeated in-person visits.
Addressing the gathering, Maj Gen Anil Chandel appreciated the efforts of the C-DAC team in successfully developing the eSeHAT project and commended the team's commitment towards strengthening digital healthcare services for veterans and their dependents. He also expressed interest in exploring the possibility of onboarding ECHS beneficiaries onto the eSanjeevani platform to further enhance the reach, accessibility, and effectiveness of teleconsultation services.
As part of the programme, Shri Kuldeep Kumar Dwivedi, Head of Administration, felicitated Maj Gen Anil Chandel as a mark of respect and appreciation. The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of ECHS and C-DAC Mohali towards advancing innovative, citizen-centric digital healthcare solutions and further strengthening collaboration in the field of digital health.
