C-DAC participated as a sponsor and exhibitor at SENDAM 2026 (Seminar and Exhibition on NDE & Allied Methods), organized by the Indian Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ISNT), Thiruvananthapuram Chapter, atDr. Srinivasan Auditorium, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram, on July 3rd - 4th, 2026. The conference, themed "From Material to Mission – Transforming Manufacturing with NDE & Additive Manufacturing," served as an important platform for bringing together researchers, scientists, engineers, industry leaders and academia to deliberate on emerging technologies and advancements in the field of Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE).
The inaugural session of SENDAM 2026 was graced by distinguished leaders from India's space and defence sectors. Shri Jayan N, Director, Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) inaugurated the event and released the conference souvenir, emphasizing the importance of advanced manufacturing and Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) technologies in ensuring the reliability of strategic systems. Dr. Jaiteerth R. Joshi, Director General, DRDO & CEO & MD, BrahMos Aerospace, delivered the Presidential Address and the Plenary Talk, highlighting the growing role of indigenous NDE technologies, additive manufacturing, collaborative innovation, and self-reliance in strategic engineering. Shri Narayanan Appu, Director, ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) released the ISNT Chapter Newsletter, while Shri Joji J. Chaman, Director, ISRO Inertial Systems Unit (IISU) inaugurated the exhibition area and interacted with exhibitors, gaining insights into the latest indigenous technologies and innovations showcased during the event.
As a sponsor of the event, the Strategic Electronics Group (SEG) at C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram showcased its indigenously developed technologies for space, defence and strategic applications through a dedicated exhibition stall.The stall attracted significant attention from delegates representing ISRO Centres, DRDO laboratories, defence establishments, public sector enterprises, industries, MSMEs, startups, academic institutions and research organizations.
The exhibition featured several flagship products developed by C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram in the field of Non-Destructive Testing and strategic electronics, including SoUNDS- Sonic Ultrasonic Non-Destructive Testing System, USBRMS –Ultrasonic Burn Rate Measurement System, PRIAMP- Precision Instrumentation Amplifier, TCMS- Thermal Conductivity Measurement System.
Visitors experienced live demonstrations of the showcased technologies and interacted with the development team to gain insights into their capabilities, applications and deployment in strategic programmes. The exhibition also fostered meaningful engagement with representatives from government organizations, research institutions and industry, creating opportunities for future collaborations and wider technology adoption.
As part of the technical programme, Shri Rajesh K. R., Scientist G and Group Head, SEG, C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram, delivered a talk highlighting C-DAC's approach to collaborative technology development and its role in supporting India's strategic sectors through indigenous innovation.
The presentation emphasized C-DAC's philosophy of building technologies through long-term collaboration, where customer requirements drive continuous innovation and technology enhancement throughout the product lifecycle. This approach has enabled C-DAC to develop trusted indigenous solutions for mission-critical applications while providing sustained technical support, customization and technology upgrades in line with evolving user requirements.
The participation in SENDAM 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to demonstrate C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram's expertise in developing indigenous technologies for the space, defence and strategic sectors, while strengthening interactions with government agencies, research organizations and industry partners. The event also reinforced C-DAC's commitment to the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat by promoting self-reliance in advanced Non-Destructive Evaluation technologies and strategic electronics.
