M-Kavach 2, is an indigenous mobile device security solution developed by C-DAC Hyderabad with the support of the MeitY. Recently, it has achieved two significant milestones towards strengthening the mobile security ecosystem of the country.
Key milestones achieved:
- M-Kavach 2 Android variant crosses 50 Lakh (5 million) downloads on Google Play Store.
- M-Kavach 2 iOS variant is successfully launched on the Apple App Store.
The Android version of M-Kavach 2 has successfully crossed 50 Lakh (5 million) downloads on the Google Play Store with a user rating of 4.2, reflecting the growing trust of users across the country in securing their smartphones against evolving cyber threats. The application provides comprehensive protection through features such as app verification, hidden application detection, security advisor, adware scanning, phishing protection, Report Fraud and device security posture assessment.
Further strengthening its reach, the iOS variant of M-Kavach 2 has now been successfully published on the Apple App Store, making the solution available to iPhone users as well. The iOS version offers security and privacy posture assessment by monitoring critical device security indicators, thereby enabling users to better understand and improve the security status of their devices.
These milestones mark another important step towards promoting secure digital adoption and enhancing mobile cyber resilience, by providing an indigenous mobile security solution for both Android and iOS platforms.
