C-DAC Mumbai signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping) on June 15th, 2026 for the development and integration of Ship Security Alert Systems (SSAS) with the Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR).
The MoA aims to enhance real-time security alerting, information sharing, and coordinated response mechanisms, thereby strengthening maritime domain awareness and supporting safer maritime operations across the Indian Ocean Region.
The agreement was formally signed by Capt. S.I. Abul Kalam Azad, Nautical Advisor-cum-Additional Director General of Shipping, and Shri Aditya Kumar Sinha, Executive Director, C-DAC Mumbai and CEO, Maritime Digital Centre of Excellence.
The signing ceremony was attended by Capt. Harinder Singh, Nautical Surveyor & DDG (Tech.), DG Shipping, along with Shri Peeyush Chomal, Scientist F, and Shri Nikhil Singh Rajput, Project Manager, C-DAC Mumbai.
The collaboration marks an important step towards strengthening maritime domain awareness and enhancing the effectiveness of maritime security and emergency response mechanisms in the Indian Ocean Region.
