C-DAC Mumbai's Education Technology Unit held the prize distribution and closing ceremony for OLabsThon on May 8th, 2025. This online hackathon, launched in December 2024, challenged India's brightest minds to design/develop innovative lab prototypes aligned with the NCERT curriculum, focusing on Social Sciences (Geography, History, Economics, Civics) and Languages(English, Hindi, Sanskrit).

Across India, 65 teams from various colleges participated in OLabsThon, a three-month hackathon. The competition unfolded through stages of Idea Submission, Prototype Building, a Mid-Review, and ultimately, Final Evaluation by a panel of internal and external judges.

The concluding prize distribution ceremony celebrated the achievements of all finalist teams. Winning teams were awarded cash prizes, mementos, and certificates, while all finalists received mementos and certificates. Dr. M. Sasikumar, Executive Director, and Ms. Archana Rane, Scientist F, presented these honors, and Dr. Sasikumar further motivated the participants with his address.

This hackathon was an activity of the OLabs Next Generation Labs (OLabs NextG) project. Promising prototypes from this hackathon will be transformed into complete OLabs and featured on the OLabs website, ensuring due recognition for the original developers.
