C-DAC Kolkata inaugurated the 8th batch of its short-term online certificate courses on November17th, 2025, marking another milestone in its nationwide capacitybuilding initiative. The new batch features four advanced courses:
- Introduction toArtificial Intelligence and Machine Learning using Python
- Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking
- Quantum Programming and Quantum Machine Learning: From Qubits to QML
- Cloud Computing with Practical's
The induction ceremony, held in online mode, began with a welcome address by Smt. Barnali Pal, Scientist F, Emerging Technology Group, followed by Shri. Sangam Kumar Chaturvedi, Scientist D, Capability and Capacity Building Group, and Programme Coordinator, addressed the participants and inspired the diverse student community. Participants introduced themselves, shared expectations, and interacted with the faculty members.
Sri. Bibekananda Kundu, Scientist E, detailed the structure of the AI-ML using Python course, while Smt. Munmun Chakraborty, Scientist E, briefed the attendees on Quantum Programming and QML course. Shri. Chaturvedi also presented an overview of the Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing courses, elaborating on the technical depth and practical components.
A total of 123 learners from varied backgrounds - research scholars, engineering graduates, IT professionals, PhD candidates, faculty members, and government officials-have enrolled in this six-week programme. The courses will be followed by online internships for selected participants, who will be provided hands-on exposure through different projects of C-DAC Kolkata.
The ceremony concluded with an interactive Q&A session where faculty members addressed student queries and shared valuable domain insights.
