In a significant step towards strengthening India's digital health ecosystem, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, launched a series of digital initiatives for the health sector on, June 29th, 2026, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, organized by the National Health Authority (NHA). The launch event gathered state health ministers, MoHFW and NHA officials, state representatives, senior government officials, healthcare leaders, and key stakeholders, marking a significant milestone in India's pursuit of a connected and interoperable healthcare system. The initiatives launched include citizen applications, provider solutions, interoperability frameworks, registries, and data standards. Multiple key products and services developed by C-DAC have been launched as part of these initiatives.
Digital Health Standards Layer
This layer covers products developed under the National Resource Centre for EHR Standards (NRCeS), a project of C-DAC Pune:
- Common LOINC Codes for India (CLCI) - a curated subset of international laboratory standards tailored to Indian healthcare needs for seamless exchange of laboratory data across hospitals, laboratories, and digital health platforms
- Bharat Health Terminology Service (BHTS) - a suite of national health terminology services and user-centric utilities that provides access to standardized healthcare terminologies, code systems, and value sets to support semantic interoperability across digital health systems
- ABDM Drug Registry – application and APIs to standardize medicine-related information across the healthcare ecosystem by enabling uniform coding of medicines across digital health applications. This registry is powered by Common Drug Codes for India (CDCI) & Drug Information Authoring Tool (DIAT) developed by C-DAC Pune
Together, the Drug Registry, CLCI, and BHTS will establish a common language for digital healthcare in India, enabling healthcare providers, laboratories, insurers, and digital platforms to exchange and interpret health information seamlessly.
Digital Health Application Layer
Under this layer, the e-Sushrut Clinic, developed by C-DAC Noida, has been launched. This ABDM-compliant HMIS caters to the digitization and ABDM integration requirements of small clinics and hospitals.
The launch was attended by Shri Vivek Khaneja, Executive Director, C-DAC, Noida;Shri Rajiv Yadav, Scientist G, and team from Noida centre;and Shri Gaur Sunder, Scientist F,Smt Manisha Mantri, Scientist F, Shri Achyut Patil, Scientist E, and Smt Sayali Satokar, Senior Project Engineer from Pune centre.
The efforts aim to improve accessibility, efficiency, and interoperability in the healthcare ecosystem, benefiting citizens, providers, insurers, technology innovators, and policymakers.
