C-DAC ACTS Pune recently empowered 175 participants with the knowledge and skills of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), commonly known as drones. This five-day intensive programme, held at the MET Institute of Information Technology Nashikfrom July28th to August01st, 2025, provided a unique blend of theoretical learning and practical experience.
The immersive programme combined classroom sessions with hands-on activities, equipping participants with industry-ready expertise in various aspects of UAS technology and related fields. The interactive format fostered a dynamic learning environment, allowing participants to explore the exciting world of drone technology.
UAS are rapidly emerging as a game-changer across various industries, with applications ranging from aerial photography to disaster relief and many more in commercial way. As the global demand for drones and related technologies surges, possessing industry-ready skills becomes increasingly important. Recognizing this need, C-DAC is actively preparing the next generation of professionals to enter this exciting field.
In a strong display of regional collaboration, the MET Institute of Information Technology, Nashik, hosted a five-day drone technology bootcamp that brought together students and faculty from various leading engineering institutions in the region. A total of 70 participants, including 65 students and 5 faculty members from prominent colleges such as Sandip Institute of Engineering and Management, Late G. N. Sapkal College of Engineering, GES R. H. Sapat College of Engineering, Matoshree College of Engineering and Research Center, SNJB's Late Sau KantabaiBhavarlalji Jain College of Engineering, K. K. Wagh Institute of Engineering Education and Research, SVIT, and K.B.T. College of Engineering - took part in this bootcamp. Their enthusiastic involvement added significant value to the learning environment and underscored the growing local interest in drone technology and its practical applications.
The programme aimed to equip participants with the fundamental concepts and allied technologies of drones, focusing on application programming, image processing, IoT, GIS, and more. This comprehensive curriculum provided them with the knowledge and skills to pursue careers in the ICT industry using industry-standard tools and techniques.
C-DAC experts played a crucial role in designing the programme, scheduling sessions, facilitating learning, and conducting drone demonstrations. Participants who successfully complete the bootcamp will receive certificates for their accomplishment.
