Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar inaugurated the "Digital India FutureLABS" and addressed the 'Digital India FutureLABS Summit 2024 at IIIT in New Delhi on Saturday. The event marked a pivotal moment in India's tech evolution, focusing on advancing Electronics System Design through collaborative efforts.

The summit saw the signing of over 20 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and industry partners, including NXP Semiconductors, Tenstorrent, and Qualcomm India. These collaborations span areas like High-Performance Computing, Design & Innovation in Compute space, and Indian Telecom Stack.

Minister Chandrasekhar emphasized India's transformation from a tech consumer to a global tech hub. He highlighted the growth of India's tech and innovation ecosystem, underscoring the role of Digital India FutureLABS in catalyzing startups in AI, Semiconductors, and Electronics System Design.

The Digital India FutureLABS initiative, led by C-DAC, aims to tap into the trillion-dollar opportunity in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM). Positioned strategically in key growth areas such as Compute, Communication, Automotive & Mobility, Strategic Electronics, and Industrial IoT, the initiative leverages futuristic technologies like AI, Big Data, and Quantum Computing.

Chandrasekhar drew parallels with iconic labs like AT&T's Bell Labs, envisioning high-performance systems that are globally competitive, affordable, low-cost, and trusted. The initiative seeks to fortify domestic R&D, create collaborative ecosystems, and elevate India's standing in next-gen Electronics System Design.
