Version 1: Bharat Smart Meter Protocol Analysis (BSMPA) 

Smart Meter Integrated Testing and Higher Analysis(SMITHA)is an Application Software developed by CDAC(T)&CPRI(Bangalore), funded by MeitY, which is a Make in India Product under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Initiative of the Government of India. SMITHA is envisaged to be taken forward in a phased manner:

SMITHA-BSMPA Verification Test Tool

The Application Software developed as one common indigenised test tool for Testing & Verification of Conventional and Smart Energy Meters (NAN & WAN) for implementation of Data Exchange protocol based on IS/IEC 62056 and Parameter verification tests as per IS 16444/15959 Series: Data Exchange for Electricity Meter Reading, Tariff & Load Control – Companion Specification.

·        IS 15959(Part 1): 2011 – Static Energy Meter

·        IS 15959(Part 2): 2016 – Smart Meter

·       IS 15959(Part 3): 2017 – Smart Meter(Transformer Operated kWh and kVArh, Class 0.2 S,0.5 S and 1.0 S)

·        Serial Physical Layer(SPL) Testing

·        Association Layer (AL) Testing

·        Specific Objects / Parameters of Energy Meter (SOEM) Testing

·        Security LayerTesting

·        Downloading of interface objects as per IS 15959 series

·        Downloading of 1byte & 4byte object list parameters

·        Downloading of Profile Parameters and Name Plate details from Meters

·        Downloading of Event Profile Parameters from Meters.

·        Setting of Programmable parameters

·        Support for TCP/IP communication Profile

·        Security features with HLS Mechanism ID2 and ID5 as per IS/IEC62056

·        Remote connect/disconnect of Meters

·        Functionality Testing of various profiles
